Fixed braces
‘Invisible Brace Technology’ involves three separate types of braces. Tooth coloured or white fixed braces are glued to individual teeth and cannot be removed from the mouth by the patient. The old style metal brackets have been replaced by these white or tooth coloured brackets.
Fixed braces can be made totally white by utilising white or tooth coloured brackets, white wires and non-staining ties, which means the appliance is virtually invisible!

Invisalign
® is another type of invisible technology where teeth move through the use of a series of custom-moulded, removable, clear plastic aligners. Using advanced 3-D computer imaging technology to project tooth movement, a new aligner is exchanged every 2 to 3 weeks to continue the gradual repositioning of your teeth. The Invisalign
® aligners must be worn all day, except when brushing, flossing or eating. There is also now a new technology called Invisalign Teen™, which is specifically designed for teenagers who feel too uncomfortable or embarrassed at the idea of fixed braces and the possibility of playground bullying. This system uses the same Invisalign® technology, but with the added advantage of ‘blue wear indicators’ which help to gauge wear time, plus they have been specially designed to compensate for the growth of new teeth and molars.

Finally, another alternative is a brace that is glued to the inner side of the teeth (on the side where your tongue lies). These are also known as Lingual braces, and Incognito® is the brand of choice. This type of appliance enables the teeth to be moved into their correct position without having the braces in plain view. These braces are custom made for your mouth and cannot be removed. The combination of patient comfort and uncompromised aesthetics makes the Incognito® system suitable for patients of all ages. Periodic appointments are arranged so that we can adjust your braces, ensuring as fast a treatment time as possible.
